The Ortles
The local mountain of Sulden is the Ortler, at 3,905 metres the highest and most powerful peak in South Tyrol.
Incidentally, it is also the highest mountain in the Eastern Alps.
Almost 100 glaciers belong to the Ortler group. The main peaks include the Gran Zebrù, also called Königsspitze, one of the most imposing and beautiful peaks in South Tyrol, with an altitude of 3,735 metres. Especially for mountaineers and climbers, the peaks still remain a sporting challenge.
